Show Summary:
Nutrition is remarkable in its ability to have people with completely opposite views saying they have science to support completely opposite views.
Frustrating isn’t it? What are we suppose to believe?
In this training, I’m going to transcend all of that discussion and find the things that everybody agrees on and I want to make a special note of the fact that as Michael Pollan says about the science of nutrition. He says, “nutrition science is very, very young to put it charitably”. He says, “it’s kind of like surgery in the year 1650. Surgery in 1650, had a lot of potential- very interesting, but you wouldn’t want them working on you quite yet; they have some more work to do”. In other words, modern nutrition science is very similar to surgery in the year 1650.
And that lead us to Dynamism Biohack #1: Your Inner Aborignee

Embrace Real Food and Avoid Cherry-Picked Science
As you dive deeper into nutrition science, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the constantly changing information and conflicting perspectives. However, it is important to acknowledge the issue of cherry-picked science, where data supporting a particular agenda is selectively chosen and presented as factual information. In the world of nutrition science, cherry-picking is often used to push new nutraceutical products.
Next, to avoid succumbing to the marketing tactics of the food industry, we need to rely on traditional practices and focus on consuming real food. This article will break down the Eat Pillar, one of the five pillars of a dynamic health, and provide insights into how you can tap into your Inner Aborigine to eliminate your risk factors for chronic diseases.
The Fad of Cherry-Picked Science
The field of nutrition science is notorious for cherry-picking data to support a specific agenda. In addition, this approach often leads to the development of new nutraceutical products that lack scientific validity. We need to question the validity of the science and ask common-sense questions before blindly accepting new products.
The Simplicity of Nutrition Science
Despite popular culture’s portrayal of nutrition science as complex, it is rather simple. In fact, there are two facts about nutrition that everyone agrees on: the Western diet creates chronic diseases, and chronic diseases do not exist in traditional diets. We need to focus on eating real food, avoiding fake food, and consuming mostly plants.
The Root of Dynamism
The Eat Pillar is one of the five pillars of a dynamic health, which is closely tied to our overall well-being. Next, we need to focus on how well we eat, move, think, connect, and cope with stressors. The major focus of the Eat Pillar is getting off the Western diet and embracing traditional practices.
Your Inner Aborigine
